Giorgio Serci was born in Sardinia in 1972. He started to teach himself to play the guitar at the age of 13, then went on to study classical guitar with Marco Meloni and jazz with John Scofield, John Surman and Tony Oxley.
In 1994 he moved to London to study at Goldsmiths College, gaining a diploma in Jazz and Popular Music (with special commendation) and a diploma in Music Teaching. Giorgio went on studying composition and arranging for jazz orchestras at the City Lit College.
