What make of instruments do you use?

Fazioli grand piano, Rhodes, Prophet 5.

What is your favourite instrument?

The piano (apart from the voice).

What was your best gig or concert, and why did you enjoy playing it so much?

The best recent one was in Germany at Jazz Baltica with Dominic Miller (guitar), Trilok Gurtu (percussion) where Sting did three songs with us the day after Live 8.

Which musicians have influenced your music most?

Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Vaughan Williams, Herbie Hancock.

What is your favourite piece of music?

There cannot ever be just one…At the moment, Tallis Fantasia

Who is your favourite band or musician?

If I have to choose one, then Stevie.

What is your favourite item of clothing?

My white performing shirt.

What is your favourite destination and why?

Brazil - it has inspired me all my life, and yet I haven't yet visited.

How do you relax?

In the arms of my beloved.
